Improves the chances of a successful pregnancy when you are ready to conceive as your eggs are preserved at their prime (before 38 years old).
As a rule of thumb, the earlier the better. Egg quality and quantity declines with age, hence when preserved early during peak female fertility, the eggs tend to be healthier, improving the chances of a successful pregnancy when used.
That said, in Singapore, elective egg freezing is allowed for women aged between 21 and 37, regardless of marital status.
If you have been considering egg freezing for some time, speak with our experienced gynaecologist who will assess your eligibility through a detailed fertility screening.

Once the eggs have matured, they will be retrieved from the ovaries using a thin needle that is gently inserted through the vagina under direct ultrasound guidance while under sedation.
The eggs collected will be examined and only the healthy ones will be frozen. This is done through a rapid-freeze technique (vitrification) to be stored for future use.

The success rate of egg freezing is influenced by various factors including the age of patient at the time of freezing, the number of eggs frozen, as well as the method of cryopreservation. Nonetheless, having eggs frozen early when young will increase the likelihood of a healthy pregnancy should one require fertility treatment at a later age.
The flash freezing method used during the egg freezing process ensures minimal damage to the eggs, effectively preserving its quality so the eggs can be stored indefinitely.
The cost of egg freezing may differ based on the number of consultations received, dosage of fertility drugs prescribed, as well as laboratory charges where the egg freezing procedure is done. For more information, please get in touch with our gynaecology clinic.
